Schizotypal (Personality) Disorder

This disorder is marked by the desire to remain socially isolated, avoiding interactions with others. Along with the lack of social relationships, people with the disorder have odd beliefs, fantasies, and/or preoccupations with strange thoughts or ideas. Other symptoms may include suspiciousness, inappropriate display of feelings, odd speech, and difficulty making or keeping friendships.

While some patients with the disorder may seek medication, often it is therapy that helps these people more than medicine. An experienced therapist can assist the patient with developing a satisfactory solitary lifestyle, which is what most of those afflicted with the disorder choose to do.

If you or a loved one has some of these symptoms and is having a difficult time, Dr. Wesley is available to help. He can assist you with developing a treatment plan that will help you meet your goals to live a better life.
