Dawn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has been working off and on in the social services field for almost 30 years, from being a direct care provider as a houseparent for 10 boys, to managing a children’s shelter home agency, to working in higher education as a Director for Administrative Services in a counseling program. She has devoted her life to helping others and looks forward to working more directly once again with clients.

Dawn provides mental health counseling for those struggling with such issues as depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, and more. She also works closely with her husband, Dr. Wesley, to provide in-home and crisis counseling services and can provide case management to support treatment and behavioral plans for addiction issues, behavioral problems, or any area that requires additional assistance.

Dawn works with you to create your therapeutic goals and support you as you work through this journey. Whether you are struggling with parenting skills, depression, anxiety and panic issues, or other mental health or life problems, she is there to give that support and help move you forward in your journey. Dawn can also work with you as a Life Journey Coach, if you feel you simply need this approach without the addition of mental health therapy. She espouses much of the breakthrough research information from Dr. Brene Brown, such as the power of vulnerability, cultivating authenticity, finding more fulfillment in relationships, and letting go of certainty and perfectionism, to name a few. Dawn is also a Certified Cognitive Coach and is successfully working with seniors who struggle with dementia and Alzheimers. Feel free to reach out for support if you or your loved one is struggling with this disease.

Dawn enjoys staying busy! She loves the outdoors, whether going to the beach, swimming, visiting a state park, walking her dogs, or spending time with her grandchildren, she rarely is sitting still. She also loves cooking and baking, traveling, and DIY projects around the house. Her primary focus right now is with her Bichon Frise, Pierre! Dawn has been slowly training this little ball of energy at home and will soon be taking him to professional training to become a therapy dog. Pierre (pictured on our home page on the boat) is a devoted, loveable little dog who smiles all the time and loves people. Dawn is anxious to be able to complete his training and begin partnering with him for therapy sessions in the near future.
